Hi all
I am just new to this forum
We are going to Scotland in two weeks time camping and hoping to stay in Skye for about a week and then heading north to Clachtoll beach campsite
Does anyone know any campsite that is not to pricey in Skye and any other ones north of Skye on the coast
Cheers Jan

Hi! When in Skye, we camp at "Camusmore" near the village of Kilmuir on the Trottenish Peninsula on the north-east of the island...beutiful place and beautiful region! If you can do without a shower for a night, this is the place for you! (beacause there are no showers!). However, acces to a garage where there is a table and chairs, fridge and radio...therefore, acces to electricity! It costs £6 a night for two people. (It used to be £5 a night for 2 but went up this year) There are details and photos on www.campsitereviews.com .There is also the campsite "Torvaig" just outside of Portree which wasn't too expensive but I havn't been back since 2005.....some of the pitching places are on a slope!

I took my kids to Kinloch campsite at Dunvegan last year and will be up there again in three weeks. Great site, plenty to do, last year it cost me £7.00 a night, that's me and kids (12 & 7), stayed four nights then headed up Applecross way.

We were at the Torvaig caravan and camping 5.-6.07 this year, and it's a lovely place. Very clean, nice staff and ok washing facilities. Not very pricey either - we paid £18 for our campervan with electricity, three adults and two kids. The hardstands were ok, some of them a bit slopy. The tent site were mostly slopy. Lots of flowers and good mood smile
