Hello,
We are booked on here for 4 nights in July. It's our first time here but liked the look of the location, open views and decent facilities.
I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice re- best place to pitch the van ? Obviously we'd like the best view, but not be too exposed, if it gets breezy.
Also, our tow car is quite low slung. Is the pitching area very undulating / full of holes ?
If anyone has any comments at all, they'd be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Alex.

Hi. I spent a couple of nights at Sands Campsite last year. It's a very busy campsite but it is so HUGE that you still have plenty of space! The campsite is between the dunes and the beach so there is protection from the wind. Various toilet blocks and there's an indoor cooking/eating/washing up place. Quite a well stocked shop next to reception and there was a fish & chip shop van. As to the pitching areas...well,I am a tent camper....but the place is so huge you'll just have to drive around and find a spot that suits you! :-)

Sounds Braw !
Thanks for taking the time to reply foinaven0.
I like the idea of having lots of space and the protection from the wind as will be putting the full awning up.
Cheers,
Alex.

Thanks,

Hi again! The play area is quite near the toilet/shower block the furthest from the entrance, where the covered cooking/dish washing/eating area is. If my memory serves me well there were swings and a mini "death ride"...but can't really remember!

Thanks again foinaven0.
I reckon I can see where you're talking about.
Seems to be over the tent side of the side, as opposed to the caravan pitching area.
Ach well, can't have everything.
Cheers,
Alex.

Your welcome! Yes, it is on the "tent side" of the campsite.....but you can actually camp anywhere...if your vehicule isn't too big. If my memory serves me well, there were camper vans and motorhomes near me in my tent!

We were at the Sands 23.-24.06 this year (our third visit) and I must say that we were dissapointed frown The showerblock at the caravan side had almost no waterpressure...we had trouble getting the shampoo out of our hair(!) and the water was rather cold also. The gameroom machines didn't work, and our kids didn't get their money back from the staff when they went and told that the machines had taken their money without working. Both the showerblocks and the washing room seemes a bit run-down. It has become quiet pricey too - we had to pay £28 for the campervan, electricity, 3 adults and 2 kids. I'm not sure we will return to the Sands again.
